Uhuru Finally Proves That He Wishes The Best For Ruto As His Retirement Nears

Date:

President Uhuru Kenyatta has proved that he wishes well for his successor William Ruto even though he failed to congratulate him after his victory in the August 9 general elections.

This is after he called upon the Kenya Defense Force to support the incoming  administration just as they supported him and those who served before him.

The outgoing president spoke during the farewell ceremony that was organized for him by the KDF at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

“I ask that you remain steadfast in the incoming administration just like you have supported my administration and that of my predecessors… I will miss you but we are still together,” he said.

“As we depend on God to protect our beloved country, we all look upon you to protect our beloved country by defending our territorial integrity and sovereignty and by always being mission ready,” he further said.

The outgoing president further thanked all who have walked with him in the journey of building the nation especially the Kenya Defense Forces.

“I appreciate the support and participation that KDF has rendered not just in the security sector but also in our national development,” Uhuru said.

Uhuru will be gracing the final public event as the head of state on Tuesday next week when he will hand over the instruments of power to the president-elect.
