Top KCPE 2022 best performers come from Kakamega and Bungoma.

Glen Otieno Omondi of St. Peter’s Primary and Robinson Makokha Fwaro of Christ the King both achieved 431 marks.

Following yesterday’s results announcement at Mitihani House in Nairobi by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, there were jubilation in the two counties when news of the top candidates was announced.

The top candidates countrywide for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) 2022 exam came from Christ the King Primary School in Bungoma County and St. Peter’s School in Kakamega.

From a possible 500 points, Vallery Awino from Nambale Magnet School in Busia County received 426.

Fwaro claimed he had not anticipated becoming the greatest in the whole country.

He intends to enroll at Alliance High and then seek a career in software engineering abroad.

“I put much effort in preparing for the examination and hoped to be among the top 10 in Kenya. I am overwhelmed,” says the 14 year old pupil.

According to Mr. David Fwaro Wekesa, his kid had made the whole family, as well as Kakamega County, proud.

“I have been challenging him to beat my 2002 record when I was the top Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination student at St Athony Mateka Secondary School in Bungoma County. I still have a copy of the newspaper with my photo on the front page,” he said.

Stephen Chamegere, the headteacher of Christ the King, said Fwaro put a lot of effort into making the school well-known in the country.

Upon hearing of Omondi’s performance, the staff, students, and parents at St. Peter’s Boys Primary in Mumias burst into song and dance.

To participate in the celebrations, Omondi’s parents traveled from Homa Bay more than three hours.

He credited his teachers’ encouragement and diligent work for his accomplishment. Omondi, like Fwaro, plans to enroll at Alliance High School and pursue a career in engineering.
