Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria rubbished president Kenyatta’s meeting with political leaders from Mt. Kenya region.
Kuria asked president Kenyatta to leave them alone since they have been waiting for four years to have a proper discussion with him but it never occurred and therefore it does not make sense for the head of the state to call them now when the general election is nearing.
“Mt Kenya leaders have been waiting for a proper sit down for 4 years. To call them 143 days before the election and when you have already declared yourself the campaign manager for Kitendawili is contemptuous. With utmost respect and deep regret, just let us be,” Kuria wrote on his social media sites.
Responding to him, a number of Facebook users however wondered when he would start selling his agenda for him to be elected as Kiambu governor instead of making noise on social media.
“Now being a time for campaign we need to see your manifesto for Kiambu County so that we as team Jungle can plan ourselves accordingly,” Peter Chege said.
“You think you are punishing Uhuru Kenyatta. The reverse is the thing. Uhuru Kenyatta is punishing you people. The person you hate most is the one who will be the president of this country and there’s nothing you can do about it,” Calvince Odoyo said.
“There is a senator who decamped to UDA with his principles intact. he doesn’t insult the president nor the enigma, he is quite only campaigning on what he has done to the people emulate him, stop running your mouth,”
The president is expected to meet governors, senators, MPs among other leaders from the region of different political affiliations on Friday as from 10 am at The Statehouse.
Details about the agenda of the meeting were however not provided.
“Good evening Mheshimiwa. I wish to invite you for a meeting of all MPs, Senators and Governors from the Mt Kenya region at Statehouse Nairobi on Friday, 18th March 2022, from 10am.Kindly confirm attendance now,” read the invite for the meeting.
