Sabina Chege Under Fire Over Her Advise To Women Amid Rising Femicide Cases

Date:

Nominated MP Sabina Chege has found herself on the wrong side with netizens over her advice to women and girls amid the rising cases of femicide in Kenya.

On Tuesday, the former Murang’a county woman rep advised women about working hard so that they can be independent and not rely on men for monetary favors, which she noted don’t come for free.

“The most important job is not marching, Counselling, mentorship and girls accepting that you can’t start from the top is a start to reducing femicide cases. What comes easy goes easy. Girls need to know how to work hard. There is no free money in this world. There is nothing that comes for free, the only thing that is free is air and it is given by God,” she stated.

“Wake up work hard, if you are in school complete your school look for a job, don’t expect that men will be giving you money, it will not happen,” she added.

The sentiments have however not sat well with a number of Kenyans wo have taken to social media to troll her.

I have a problem with Kenyan voters. Sabina Chege, Florence Kajuju got elected just because they are BEAUTIFUL. The voters didn’t care whether or not they could DELIVER,” Brian Mutiga wrote on X.

“Women are trolling Sabina Chege for telling them not to date men for money yet she is associated with flamboyant younger men in the city……..eti she is preaching water and drinking wine,” Musoma J wrote and accompanied his tweet with a photo of Sabina and businessman Jamal Marlaw.

There are however those who agreed with Sabina arguing that she spoke some sense.

“If a man said this and not Sabina Chege, we would be canceling him by the hour. Some truths don’t need to be repeated. My dear sister here is a complete piece of advice,” said another X user.
