Ruto Shares Details Of His First Assignment In Office As Kenya’s Fifth President

Date:

President-elect William Ruto has made public what his first assignment will be once he assumes leadership of the country after the pending ruling on the presidential petition.

Ruto, who was in Njoro along with other Kenya Kwanza leaders for a thanksgiving ceremony, said that the first thing Kenya Kwanza government will handle is the issue of stalled projects which include roads.

“We shall begin from the issue of stalled projects. We are already assessing them and as of now in our country, we have stalled projects close to Kshs 500 billions and we have said that is where we will begin from to make sure that we put in place a plan that will give us Kshs500 billion to complete all the pending projects including roads here in Njoro and Nakuru.

“Our first assignment as administration is to relieve the stress of many contractors who are holding pending bills on many projects that have stalled. We have close to Ksh500 billion pending projects,” he said.

Ruto further said that Kenya Kwanza intends to unite Kenyans from different communities and focus on development. At the same time, he bashed false prophets and critics who predicted negative outcome of the elections and his loss.

Speaking about the Supreme Court’s pending ruling, Ruto said that they will respect the outcome of the case.

“Tomorrow, the Supreme court will give its ruling and because we respect the law we will respect its ruling.

The president-elect addressed congregants moments after an unidentified man breached his security to hand him a document, while he was seated.

The man was however whisked away. Details of the file that he handed Ruto still remain unclear since he did not address the issue.
