Roselyn Akombe, the former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner has promised Kenyans a dose of vital information on what happened during the controversial 2017 General Elections.
Akombe said she would spill the beans someday and give her side of the story on what transpired during the polls when she was no longer “legally bound”.
The former commissioner was responding to a Kenyan on Twitter who told Akombe she had a chance to deliver credible elections when she was in the corridors of power but failed. The ex-IEBC employee also said independence in Kenyan institutions was all pretence.
“No, I did not have a chance. I will release my story in detail one day, when I am legally unbound, and you will understand what I mean,” she said in her rejoinder.
However, in the comment section, netizens were seemingly conflicted on whether she should speak out, with many questioning why she had kept the ostensibly crucial information from the public.
Some comments are below:
Nick Snr meaning your integrity and accountability is questionable…….. You had a chance to protest, resign and unmask them.
OchiengOpinya What do you mean one day, why didn’t you then? It won’t change a thing let Kenya heal when we needed you most you hide your tail.
