Revolt In Ruto’s Backyard As Kesses MP Refuses To Join UDA Or Endorse DP

Date:

Deputy president William Ruto is facing opposition in his Uasin Gishu backyard as Kesses MP Swarup Mishra declared that he will not be joining his hustler camp.

Mishra has been at odds with Ruto for a while now. Early this year he noted that handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga was uniting the country.

His sentiment rubbed Ruto’s camp the wrong way as they have always been opposed to the handshake between Raila and Uhuru.

Mishra has come under heavy criticisms from Ruto’s allies especially Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi who has vowed to campaign for another candidate in Kesses constituency.

On Tuesday October 19th, Mishra spoke on the party that he will be using to seek re-election while distributing motorbikes to residents in Kesses Constituency, Uasin Gishu county.

He delivered 30 motorbikes to Chereber, Cherus, Kaptingia, Kapilat, and Lainguse bodaboda operators in Kesses Constituency, Uasin Gishu county.

The Kesses MP told residents that he is not allied to any political party in the country at the moment.

The first-time MP stated that he is not interested in being in any political party as his interest is service to the people of Kesses.

“You should know me and know my style of leadership. My style is not talking too much without actions. I talk a few words and leave then act,” said Mishra.

Without endorsing any particular presidential candidate, the Kesses MP urged his constituents to elect a candidate of their choice, adding that he will not advise them.

Mishra further noted that his party is the people of Kesses and Kalenjin nation at large and that he is not planning to join any political outfit soon.

“In 2022, I won’t tell you who to vote for, you know the person that best suits you for all those positions. For me, I don’t have any party, my party is Kesses and my party is Kalenjin. I don’t want to be in any party, my party is work,” said the Kesses MP.
