Relief For Trump AS Georgia Agrees To Do A Recount

The election officials in the state of Georgia have agreed to conduct a vote recount as previously demanded by the Donald Trump.

The officials announced on Wednesday evening that they will initiate a full hand recount in a bid to verify the recently released results.

Through a press conference, the secretary of state Mr. Brad Raffensperger confirmed that his office will begin the process by the end of the week. This process is expected to go until 20th of November 2020.

Once the hand recount is confirmed, the dissatisfied party will request for another recount by the machine. The incoming president Joe Biden defeated the outgoing president Donald Trump by around 14,000 votes in Georgia. However, Donald Trump refused to concede defeat citing electoral fraud.

Although there is no compulsory recount of votes in the state of Georgia, trailing candidates are allowed to request for the same if the margin is less than 0.5%. In the case of the recent election, Biden only defeated Donald Trump by a margin of 0.28%. Therefore, Trump was within the law to request for the recount.
