A pastor in Migori accused of defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old-girl was today arrested to answer to the said charges.
The pastor was accused of raping the class eight pupil from Muslim Primary School who hails from Ongito village in Nyatike constituency. According to Joyce Atieno, the girl revealed that the pastor abused her sexually when she went to pray in his church. Joyce Atieno is the children’s Officer for Nyatike Sub County.
According to Mrs. Atieno, the incident came to the public limelight after the girl threatened to commit suicide. The girl blamed her parents for the tribulation having forced her to attend prayers at the pastor’s church.
The girl narrated how the pastor came to their home and told her mother that she should enroll for prayers in his church. Feeling suspicious, the girl decided to go for the so called prayers with her friend. On reaching, they were only three people in the church and it is then that the rapist informed the girl to join him in a room for “handling” the sick.

It is then that the rapist showed his true colors by defiling the 14-year-old girl. The evil act happened two months ago before the police caught up with the pastor today.
