Raila Warns of Grave Repercussions After Ruto’s Attack on Judiciary

Date:

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has warned of grave repercussions following President William Ruto’s blatant attack at the Judiciary.

In a lengthy statement, Raila noted that Azimio has never disobeyed court orders despite disagreeing the Supreme Court Verdict on the 2022 Presidential Election petition.

Raila thus reprimanded Ruto arguing that he was only saved by the same courts he is now attacking.

“Kenyans will recall that when the Supreme Court made its contemptuous ruling against Azimio la Umoja’s presidential election in 2022, we said we strongly disagreed but accepted it to further the rule of law, democracy, stability and healing of our nation. To date, it remains our position that disobeying court rulings is a sure path to chaos and the collapse of a nation,” Raila stated.

He added, ” Mr Ruto has captured Parliament, and Bills now come straight from the State House and get ratified by lawmakers. Sometimes, up to two bills are approved in one afternoon.

If there was ever any doubt about the evil intent of the Kenya Kwanza regime regarding the Constitution of Kenya, yesterday’s attack by William Ruto on the Judiciary removes all the
doubt.”

The former Prime Minister indicated that attacks directed at the Judiciary would lead to the collapse of the country.

“But this is not about the Judiciary. This concerns where Ruto wishes to take Kenya and what it means for Kenyans. Having captured parliament, Ruto wants to intimidate, subdue and capture the Judiciary.

He wants Judges not to hear cases against his policies, dismiss such cases or always rule in his favour. In other words, Ruto wants to establish an absolute dictatorship.”

His sentiments came after Ruto accused a section of judicial officers of perpetuating graft.

He argued that they have been paid to sabotage his Affordable Housing and Social Health Care scheme.

He however vowed to forge ahead despite their court directives.
