Raila Odinga Forced To Give Out His Personal Helicopter

Date:

ODM leader Raila Odinga missed the endorsement of Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi to vie for the Nairobi county gubernatorial seat.

Since the event was so important to him, the ODM leader sent the party’s secretary general Edwin Sifuna.

According to Sifuna, he was with Raila in Mombasa for the Azimio la Umoja campaigns but the former prime minister gave him his personal helicopter so that he could attend Wanyonyi’s event in Nairobi on Sunday November 14.

“I was with the party leader in Mombasa as we are currently popularising the Azimio La Umoja in the coastal region. However, in the morning, he gave me his own chopper directing me to come to this function because it is important,” Sifuna disclosed.

According to Sifuna, Raila and the ODM party have a great admiration of Wanyonyi because of his development record.

“We know and we are aware that you are one of the most respected public servants not just in this country but across the world. We are very proud of you as ODM because you provide an opportunity for what an ODM government would do,” the secretary general said.

He further praised the lawmaker on his impressive record of representing Westlands constituency, adding that he would represent the party well in the coming general elections.

“Wanyonyi has demonstrated to us that he can make friendships even with the people who wish you bad. I know that there will be no division whatsoever in the party when it comes to the decision of who is going to be our candidate as governor,” Sifuna stated.

On his part, Wanyonyi said that he intends to popularize his candidature among residents of Nairobi since he is best suited to be their governor.

“My administration will promote the ease of doing business within the city by reviewing and harmonizing existing taxes and levies, fostering digitalization of all county levies,” Wanyonyi stated.
