Raila Doesn’t Know The Content Of The BBI – Murkomen Claims

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga does not know the content of the BBI report.

The Senator argues that the BBI Process was managed like a private property despite being a public matter.

His claims come at a time when there are reports that the report will soon be reviewed by the Cabinet over the weekend ahead of its launch.

“So the Cabinet will discuss BBI final report tomorrow and be launched in State House on Saturday?” Murkomen posed.

“I can’t remember any other process that involves the people of Kenya that has been managed like private property even more than official secrets. Now let the campaigns begin.”

Taking to his Twitter wall, the outspoken senator said he was certain that there are not more than five people who know the content of the report.

“Even Raila & Yusuf Haji don’t know the contents just like they didn’t know what was in the first report that was launched in Bomas. All are waiting for Saturday’s launch,” he said.

Reports say that President Kenyatta will meet the leadership of both Houses of Parliament on Saturday to discuss the anticipated Building Bridges Initiative report.

The is growing tension in the political arena with many keeps guessing about the fate of the BBI report.

Almost three months after the BBI task force completed compiling the final report, the President is yet to receive it.

The delay has sparked suspicion more so among ODM followers that President Kenyatta may have made a U-turn on the report expected to restructure the government.

Sources say the President is concerned that conducting a referendum at the time when the economy of the country has seriously been hurt by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic would be “insensitive”.

The BBI task force led by Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji concluded its work on June 30 and is only waiting to present the report to the President.
