President Kenyatta Warms Hearts By Paying Fees For Stranded Young Kisii Referees

Date:

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warmed hearts of Kenyans after clearing fees for two sisters from Kisii with passion for soccer.

This comes after the plight of the high school students, Zulfa Abdul Ahmed and her sister Neima Abdul Ghan, was highlighted by Citizen TV during the Jeff Koinange Live show.

The girls had pleaded with the public to help them raise money for them to proceed with their studies.

The form two and form four students at Getembe mixed secondary school had been forced to stay at home due to outstanding fee balances.

President Kenyatta, through the statehouse comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua cleared the girls’ fee arrears on Thursday November 4.

The siblings are both  class three referees under the Football Kenya Federation.

President Kenyatta also promised to help them reach their desire of becoming top FIFA referees.

The two have been officiating matches in the lower football leagues in Kisii  county, and have been using their earnings to fend for their  family.

Responding to president Kenyatta’s kind gesture a netizen questioned what the Kisii County leadership was doing when such bright dreams were being cut short.

“Thanks president, we have governor Ongwae and an MP with a CDF kitty, what are they doing surely, until the president decides to help people from that far? Hell to the MCAs, governor, MP , women rep and senator,” he said.

“We live in a country of high inequalities. Others just think of stealing and accumulating wealth that they will never use while most others can’t afford even the basics. If that is not evil what is?” a Facebook user posed.
