Makadara police have launched a search for an avocado seller who has been linked to the death of a matatu tout inside a lodging.
The man identified as Mwala is claimed to have played a role in the death of Bernard Musyoka alias Swaleh.
Swaleh was found death on Sunday August 29 at Dreamland guest house in Mukuru slums, Nairobi.
According to reports, Swaleh who was a regular visitor at the lodging arrived at the premises around 9 pm on Saturday before proceeding to the room he shared with the suspect only for him to be discovered dead the following day in the afternoon.
Mwala is said to have left the room without notice. One of dreamland’ workers who was on duty said that the deceased arrived at the guest house while feeling unwell. He was given some tablets and water which he took before going to bed.
Makadara Police boss, Timon Odingo said that the deceased had visible injuries and investigations into his death have since commenced.
“Investigations into the matter have kicked-off and the suspect, who is still at large, will be nabbed soon so as he sheds more light into the incident,” Odingo stated.
The deceased’s family has urged police to speed up investigations and arrest those responsible for the death of their kin.
According to Musyoka’s elder sister Beatrice Mwikali, her brother was injured in the chest and part of the stomach had visible injuries.
“Blood was also oozing from his mouth, and there is no way the attendants can say that my brother arrived there complaining that he was unwell,” she disclosed.
Until his death, the 30-year old was a tout at Indamanje sacco whose matatus ply the Hillock-Muthurwa road.
