Siaya Senator James Orengo has a flourishing career both in politics and law and he is arguably one of the best lawyers Kenya has ever had.
Orengo joined politics in 1980 where he was elected as the MP for Ugenya just at 29 years of age under a KANU ticket. In 2002, he attempted to vie for presidency but he lost. He whoever went back for the parliamentary seat in 2007, which he won and in 2013 he was elected as the senator
He is married to Betty Kaari Murungi and together, they have six children namely, Bob, Steven, Michael, Zeni Orengo, Josephine and Lynette Orengo.
Judging from some of the properties he owns, he is among politicians that are eating life with a big spoon. His net worth is said to be $1.5 millions which is about Kshs 173,040,000.
The rural home of senator Orengo came into the limelight after he hosted ODM leader Raila Odinga, together with his wife Ida Odinga and several friends in December 2020. It is situated in Ugenya, Siaya County.
The beautiful home stands on a large compound that has well maintained green lawns. His house is painted white on the outside with gray at the bottom. The house is fitted with large windows and completed with a gray rooftop.
The home is fenced with a brick wall, and a clear view of the home was captured during Raila’s visit in 2018.
