Oscar Sudi Reacts After Being Summoned Over Raila Odinga’s Chopper Stoning Incident

Three allies of DP William Ruto have been implicated in the planning of chaos that saw Raila Odinga’s chopper and entourage pelted with stones.

The incident occurred after the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor in Kabenes, Uasin Gishu County on Friday, April 1. The chopper’s windscreen was shuttered.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, preliminary investigations show that Soy MP Caleb Kositany, his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi and the speaker of Uasin Gishu county David Kiplagat organized and coordinated the chaos.

“On April 1, 2022, at 5:50pm, in a ceremony attended by among other dignitaries the Rt Hon Raila Odinga. At the closure of the ceremony, chaos erupted and stones including other projectiles were hurled at the former Prime Minister by incited youth, maliciously damaging the his helicopter’s windscreen.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the chaos was organized and coordinated by; 1. Hon Caleb Kositany, MP, Soi Constituency 2. Hon Oscar Sudi, MP, Kapseret Constituency 3. Hon David Kiplagat, speaker of Uasin Gishu County Assembly,” a statement by DCI read in part.

The three will now be required to appear before the Rift Valley DCI Regional coordinator for further investigations of how they were involved in the incident

“In view of the foregoing, the two legislators and County Assembly Speaker have pursuant to Section 52 of the National Police Service Act 2011, been summoned to appear in person before the Rift Valley DCI Regional coordinator on April 3, 2022, at 9am, for further investigations into their involvement in the incident,” DCI further said.

Following the new development, Sudi has said that he will be addressing the nation tomorrow at 9.00 am exactly the time that he is required to appear before DCI.

“I will be addressing the nation tomorrow morning at 9.00 am,” Sudi tweeted.

Sudi was among those who condemned the Friday incident and all the similar incidents while calling upon the police to take full responsibility for the Kabenes incident.

“We condemn any act of violence against politicians either in Kabenes,Kenol,Kondele or anywhere within our republic. The police should take full responsibility of what happened in Kabenes. We shouldn’t tolerate such barbaric and retrogressive kind of politics this century.

On the other hand, Kositany said that he learnt about the stoning incident via twitter and during the day, he had been in good mood with Raila and  the other ODM leaders when they met at Kibor’s funeral.
