Murkomen Says He Was Surprised About Kenyans Discussing His Expensive Watch And Shoes

Date:

Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen has finally broken silence after he went viral on X, for donning a lavish watch and pairs of shoes.

Speaking during Masinde Muliro’s University graduation, the CS said that he as so surprised because he could not believe that he had made it at that level.

“I saw a debate on social media about the shoes I wear and the watch. I was really surprised. I asked my wife ‘Is that me?’. I even asked my sister if that was us they were talking about. We have made it to this level,” he said.

Murkomen went ahead to explain how he grew up loving expensive watches.

“In primary school, I had a watch that was difficult to get. My father tasked me to become number one to earn it. I read until I got dizzy.

“I missed being number one with two marks. My father had mercy on me and bought me that watch. I think that is where my love for watches started. That passion and background should never make you give up,” he said.

Recently, President William Ruto also left Kenyans stunned after he was spotted donning a belt worth kSHS425,000.

The leaders have left Kenyans’ with mixed reactions, some faulting them of donning expensive things while claiming that they found no funds in government.

“Instead of President Ruto, Murkomen & Co searching/googling/researching about how Great leaders like Lee Kuan Yew changed Singapore from a third world to Developed country or How Chairman Mao Zedong changed China to what it is today, they are busy looking for best designer shoes, belt, watches etc.

“These are leaders we expect to change & transform Kenya to be Singapore of Africa. These are the same individuals we are waiting to build houses for every Kenyans. Selfish politicians whose main aim & focus is to be dollar billionaires. Kenya is seriously bleeding because of the greedy, selfish & corrupt leaders we woke up early to vote for. They are now busy accumulating wealth & enriching themselves. We have a long way to go,” an X user stated.
