“Mimi Ni Tajiri, Nasemaje Nimesota” Ringtone Blames Mental Illness Over His Outburst On Being Bankrupt

Date:

Self proclaimed chairman of Gospel music in Kenya Alex Apoko popularly known as Ringtone has denied claims that he is broke.

This is after a video emerged last week on Tik Tok with the singer saying that he had been forced to walk because he was broke and could not afford fuel for his car.

“Mahaters na Wakenya mimi niliishiwa sikuhizi naenda mguu. Nadhani mnafaa kufurahi sana nilikuwa nawaringia lakini siku hizi naenda mguu, but ni saawa tu Mungu ataniunua tena” Ringtone said.

Speaking in an interview, during the launch of singer Size 8 Reborn album dubbed The Gospel Anthem, Ringtone instead claimed that he was not in his right mind when he said he was broke.

According to him, he has been experiencing problems with his mind since he was hit on the head by blogger Robert Alai last year.

“Let me tell you the truth, since Alai hit me on the head with a rungu , I don’t even understand my head. I don’t remember saying I am broke. Am very rich, how can I say that I am broke. I am blessed,” Ringtone said.

He however said that he has been undergoing check-ups and revealed that the assault case will be mentioned in court on Tuesday.

“The case is on Tuesday, all my fans, let’s meet at Kibera law courts come and support me. I will be giving my testimony so that you understand. Others had said that I had been bribed to drop the case against Robert Alai,” the talanta hitmaker said.

Ringtone accused Alai of assaulting him and despising him saying that he is not a Christian since he would have asked for forgiveness for his ill deeds.

The artist revealed that he is not the one who filed the case against Alai but the government and he will be in court as a state witness.

“I don’t have my case but the case is by the government. If I file a case against him it will be about defamation,” he said.
