Man Almost Dies After Urinating At A Place Inscribed “Kojoa Hapa Uone”

Date:

Police in Kakamega are holding a man who brutally assaulted another with heavy blows and kicks, for responding to a call of nature at a public place.

Jared Otieno, 30, was arrested yesterday afternoon within Kakamega’s Dharau area, moments after the serious assault on the 24-year-old man.

The victim had taken a leak at a public place oblivious of a clear warning inscribed on an adjacent wall, “Kojoa Hapa Uone!” No sooner had the victim finished his business than Otieno emerged and rained blows on his face, totally disfiguring his jaws and leaving him with a black eye.

Efforts by curious onlookers to calm a furious Otieno who had taken the county by-laws into his own hands yielded little results, forcing them to call police officers from Kakamega Police station who arrived immediately.

As the suspect was ushered into a waiting police land cruiser, the badly injured victim who could not open his mouth due to the extent of his injuries, was rushed to Kakamega General Hospital for specialized medication.

Following the problems that befell the man, below is how a number of Kenyans reacted:

“This habit is very uncouth. The guy should be released unconditionally, after all, he “taught him a lesson” he didn’t kill so that others can learn?.”

“Sanity must be observed while fixing issues. Assaulting a person is illegal, unethical and ungodly. We have so many bullies in this nation who must be tamed and explicitly be instructed to respect human rights…”

“Very well deserved. Same fate to other public urinators, looters of public coffers and husband’s who assault their wives.”

“Sorry ?for such a misfortune. What if the boy had urinary incontinence?Actually, he didn’t deserve all this shit. There are things that you run out of control even if it was you. That’s why you find a kababa kananyemelea kando ya barabara irregardless of who’s watching hiyo kadudu kake ?or a mother who’s in labour room is allowed to kojoa in a labour bed and save the baby rather than be sorry for dropping it in the toilet. The call of nature is involuntary and must always be obeyed. The good news is that the patient is always right under ethical considerations and professionalism.”
