Little Known Details Of The Owner Of Radio Jambo, Kiss FM Radio Stations That Are Under Radio Africa

Radio Africa is one of the leading media companies in Kenya. The company is located in Nairobi and was founded in 2000.

The company focuses on print, broadcast and digital media. Popular radio stations under the group include Radio Jambo, Kiss fm,. Classic 105  East FM, Smooth FM, X FM, Relax FM, Jambo Turkana Gukena FM and Homeboyz radio. 

Radio Africa also operates two TV stations namely Bamba TV and Kiss TV. Apart from that, it also runs a digital platform known as mpasho and as well as The Star newspaper.

The company is owned by a Ghanian identified Patrick Quarcoo. He never studied anything related to the field of media but he had a strong passion in journalism and that drove him to success in the industry that is currently enjoying.

At the University of Ghana, Quarcoo studied a Bachelor of Science in Administration, Marketing/Marketing Management and graduated in 1980.

He then undertook a Masters in Business Administration(Internal marketing, Corporate strategy and Corporate Finance.

After finishing his masters, he began looking for space in media outlets so that he could report what was happening in Ghana. His determination paid off as he landed 6 radio segments, three in BBC and three in Voice of America.

Later he relocated to Uganda as a correspondent for  Reuters. In the 1990s, he moved to Kenya to set up his own media company. He relocated with a British friend, William Pike, who was then working as an editor at Reuters.

Pike became the Convergence Director of Radio Africa Group and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Star Newspaper that was launched in 2007.

On the  other hand Quarcoo was the CEO of Radio Africa. He ensured that the company grew to where it is now.

Reports indicate that the media company makes profits that amount to billions. Classic 105 and Kiss FM have been deemed the most popular of the group.
