KNEC Issues Strict Demands to Parents Ahead of KCSE Registration

Date:

Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has given parents a strict ultimatum ahead of the registration deadline for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

In a notice dated Friday, March 22, KNEC announced that the deadline set for March 29 will not be extended.

The council urged parents to ensure learners have been registered and their data accurately captured.

“Please note that the portal for registration of this year’s candidates closes on March 29 and there will be no extension of the deadline,” KNEC said.

“No requests for late registration will be honoured past March 29.”

Further, KNEC warned that they will not allow change of photos and other details once the portal closes

“Please visit your child’s school and ensure he/she is registered and the details captured accurately. Do not let your child miss the exam,” KNEC said.

The registration exercise started on January 29. KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njengere appealed to all school principals to ensure that all the eligible candidates are registered within two months.

The Knec boss said two months is adequate to register all the candidates, warning that there will be no late registration this year as Knec will not extend the period.

“Take advantage of the two months to register all your candidates,” said Njengere.

The KNEC boss advised parents to take responsibility for finding out from their school if their children have been registered within the two months.
