Khalwale And Ruto Booed In Western By Angry Voters Wearing UDA Tshirts

Date:

Former Kakamega senator Dr. Boni Khalwale had a rough time on Friday after the visibly angry voters decided not to give them a listening ear.

From the video in possession of Sonko News taken in the western part of the country, Boni Khalwale and deputy president William Ruto could not address the crowd which was chanting Tawe.

Attempts to cool down the angry crowd were futile as chants of “Hakuna hatutaki UDA!” continued to fill the air from the locals majority of whom were putting on branded UDA yellow T-shirts.

The former Kakamega senator and the deputy president are traversing the western part of the country as they sell their bottom up economic model. Some of the places they visited on Friday include Butere, Bukura, Mumias town and  Musoli town in Ikolomani constituency.

While there, they engaged the locals in Kakamega county at the start of their two day tour of Western region where the insisted that they will implement the bottom up economic model to create jobs for the millions of young people in the region.

“Financing small enterprises and facilitating farmers through affordable, quality inputs and finding ready markets for their produce form the pillars of our Bottom-Up Economic Development Model. This is in addition to creating jobs for the millions of young people by equipping them with relevant technical skills.

In the meantime, a video of Deputy president William Samoei Ruto bribing 500 mama mbogas in Western with 2,000 Kenya shillings each through his key ally Kimilili member of parliament Didmus Baraza left Kenyans talking.

While breaking the news to the public, the Kimilili legislator stated that the 1 million Kenya shillings he was given by DP Ruto was well delivered to the intended recipients.

“William Samoei Ruto your tocken of Kes 1M Was well received by 500 Mama mbogas from Kimilili T junction as witnessed by more than 3,000 hustlers.” Wrote Didmus Barasa.

From the pictures, the alleged 500 mama mbogas made several lines in a bid to receive their token of appreciation from the second in command through the Kiminini member of parliament.

After receiving their share, the women were so elated that some resorted to singing and jumping to mark their big day.

While some people commended DP Ruto for being generous, there are those who castigated him for promoting the politics of handouts and bribery in the country.

Following the bribery incident, this is how a number of Kenyans reacted:

“Look at how William Ruto is shamelessly bribing poor women in the name of empowering them. If this is the case, when will he reach the other 50 million Kenyans so that they also have their share of 2,000 each before the elections? “

“Who will make poor Kenyans understand that these monies were stolen from the government hence the high prices of goods and heavy taxes to sustain the battered economy.”

“This is how Luhya votes are divided so easily.. Cheated by cheap money bring that in Nyanza we will eat it but VOTE ALL TO BABA PERIOD.”

“Wah, this is sickening. How long can this go on? Such a leader once in office can never perform cz he will feel he bought the position. Kenyans are their own enemy and the leaders we chose reflect what calibre of leaders they want. These wananchi will never know what hard work means, they will always want to depend on handouts.”
