Karen ward aspirant Hon. Maloba Albert on Tuesday led youthful aspirants to condemn the politics of deceit spearheaded by the likes of ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.
In a statement dubbed “AZIMIO LA UMOJA ASPIRANTS NAIROBI CHAPTER,” these aspirants regretted that selfishness had taken center stage of the Kenyan politics with no one to be trusted.
Specifically, they cited young politicians such as the Nairobi senator Hon, Johnson Sakaja and Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala whom they termed as being at the fore-front of eroding dignity of the young people across the Country.
Below was the full statement by Hon. Maloba and his team:
“Fellow Kenyans, we want to thank and congratulate all the young men and women who have come out to exercise their democratic rights by contesting for various positions across the Country.
Young people have suffered and for a long time have not gotten the representation in key decision making organs as ever desired and it is this gap that we come out to seal for good.
It is very sad that some of our fellow young leaders who are currently in power, Instead of driving agendas to better the lives of the youth in this Country, they have turned to political brokers who auction their tribes, fellow leaders and some unsuspecting citizens to the highest bidder. It is this kind of backward and self centered politics that we condemn and want to get rid of completely.
We pledge that with your support, we will re-write the wrongs committed by selfish leaders like Hon. Malala, Sakaja and many other sellouts and restore the dignity of young people across the Country.
We promise that we will prioritize agendas that create favourable and sustainable opportunities for the youth, those which empower and amplify the voices and needs of young people in our great nation Kenya. Indeed we will endeavor to take part in the nation building.
We so far appreciate, sincerely the support our fellow youth, parents, relatives and Community are giving us in this wonderful journey.
Secondly, we wish to thank all the young people coming out to register as voters, indeed politics plays every role in the growth or downfall of a country. Everything we consume, how we move and live is defined by who is in power or political office therefore we all need to come out and register as voters so that unanimously we can elect someone who is credible and has his Country at heart.
On the same breadth we want to condemn in strong terms the unbecoming tendency of most Governors, MPs and Senators who follow Raila Odinga everywhere he goes. We want to ask them to concentrate on registering new voters in their various constituencies and Counties because Baba needs more votes come 9th August 2022 and not some few selfish followers.
IEBC continues to lament of low voters turnout and the inability to meet the 6 million target set, to Marshall young people to come out and vote, we need to all combine our energies and talk to our people candidly and honestly if we want to hit the 6 Million target set by IEBC.
In summary, we wish to urge fellow young people across the Country to support their fellow youth so that we can achieve at least 70% inclusion of the youth in the next Government. Many times we have complained of being discriminated but with this opportunity, we must get it right and support our brothers and sisters who are running.
Lastly, we want to say that the purported earthquake which failed on Sunday 23rd Jan 2022 is not worth engaging and therefore as young aspirants we will not discuss it however, we want to on behalf of elected leaders in ANC and Ford Kenya extend our disappointments in Hon. Mudavadi for compromising and betraying the people of Mulembe and ANC loyal supporters. Failing to consult and notify ANC elected leaders showed blatant dictatorship and selfishness and leaders with such immoral characters fail the country a big deal.
We therefore call upon Kenyans to join us in supporting HE. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga as the 5th President of Kenya for a better and prosperous Kenya.
