Kalonzo Musyoka Wins Big In The Latest Azimio-OKA Power Sharing Deal

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka might be on his way back to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance to support Raila Odinga’s presidential candidature.

Raila confirmed that the two had been in contact during the burial of Rabai MP William Kamoti Mwamkale on Monday.

This is after the ODM leader said that he had brought condolences from president Uhuru Kenyatta and the Wiper party leader.

“I have brought condolence messages from two people, first President Uhuru Kenyatta and secondly Kalonzo Musyoka,” Raila said while addressing mourners.

According to a report by NTV Kalonzo, Raila and president Uhuru Kenyatta met through a virtual session for an hour before Odinga left for Kamoti’s burial, Kalonzo for Baringo to join KANU leader Gideon Moi who was presenting his nomination papers before IEBC and after President Kenyatta’s meeting with Sierra Leonean  president  Julius Maada who is in the country for a five day visit.

The latest deal will see Kalonzo  and his party bag at least five positions in case Azimio wins the August 9 elections.

The former vice president is said to have negotiated for the ministry of Energy, Tourism, Water and Health. He also wanted the infrastructure docket which he was denied.

Kalonzo further got the offer to become the foreign affairs CS and also retained the chief minister position as Raila announced while unveiling his running mate on May 16.

The latest development came just a day after Kalonzo was handed a grace period to submit his presidential nomination papers at IEBC in the required format.

He is set to appear before the commission on June 4 for clearance.

Kalonzo had been locked out of the presidential race after failing to present his list of supporters in the required Microsoft Excel sheet.
