Iko Wapi Pesa?- Migori Youths Demand Money From Ruto And Obado

Date:

Migori youths who attended a rally by deputy president William Samoei Ruto and governor Oktoth Obado did not hide their thirst for money.

From a live video seen by Sonko News, the youths asked governor Okoth Obado where the money was (ere pesa in luo). Obado was addressing the Migori residents in the company of the second in command.

While at it, he urged the residents not to be coerced into electing certain leaders since it was their democratic right to elect whoever they want.

However, the youths seemed to be getting impatient as they said “oromo ere pesa” (a luo phrase meaning enough speech now give us money.) It is not however clear whether governor Obado and DP Ruto managed to dish out some money to the Migori youths who openly asked for the same.

On his side, DP Ruto sold his bottom up economic model and vowed to bring development to the country by giving priority to those with low income in the society. He further asked the residents to practice the politics of tolerance and reject advances by politicians to misuse them for short term gain.

Deputy President William Ruto’s tour of the Nyanza region began on Tuesday where he landed at the Susan Owiyo Arts Centre. According to the Star, The DP was expected to hold a series of political rallies in Kisumu county before heading to Homa Bay and Migori counties.

He was then supposed to head to the famous Kondole then tour Kisumu West constituency at Nyahera to meet small-scale traders and make donations before winding up his tour at the Nyalunya Primary School in Kisumu East, where he was expected to give a donation to the school.

In the meantime, Saboti member of parliament Caleb Amisi earlier this week urged Kisumu residents to turn up in large numbers to welcome deputy president William Samoei Ruto.

According to Caleb Amisi, Ruto’s visit to the Lakeside region was a good opportunity for the locals to officially hand over the opposition roles to him.

“Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has told the people of Nyanza to turn up in large numbers to welcome William Ruto. He’s told them to use the Nyanza tour to hand over instruments of opposition politics to the next Leader of Official Opposition. He’s called it the Opposition Handover Tour.” Tweeted Gabriel Oguda.
