How Ruto Played Uhuru Kenyatta In The Ethiopia, DRC Peace Envoy Deal- Miguna Miguna

Date:

President William Ruto announced that he had appointed his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta as the peace envoy to Ethiopia and Great Lakes country immediately after he was sworn into office.

Uhuru has since not uttered a word regarding the appointment on whether he will accept or reject it.

Explaining why he made the decision to appoint his successor despite the fact that they were not on good terms during their second term of administration, Ruto said that he is different and that they are not enemies with Uhuru.

“I believe that President Kenyatta brings value to the processes in Ethiopia and DRC. What was there between him and me was a competition. It wasn’t a competition between me and the person he supported. Being a democracy, we are mature enough to understand that we can compete but we don’t have to be enemies but compatriots,” he said in an interview with France 24.

On the other hand, Miguna Miguna said that in making the appointment, Ruto played like a musical instrument, by putting him in a very difficult situation.

“President Williams Ruto played despot Uhuru Kenyatta like ORUTU(one stringed African fiddle). If the despot accepts his appointment as a “regional ambassador” he would have publicly accepted Williams Ruto as president when he said he won’t. If the despot rejects the appointment, many will say “sore loser’,” the lawyer said.

Miguna however expressed confidence that Uhuru will not accept the peace envoy job because of his ego.

“Most of us know that despot Uhuru Kenyatta’s childishness, pettiness, arrogance, ego and entitlement will not allow him to accept the “appointment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the deported lawyer announced that his travel timeline to Kenya has been changed and he will be arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on October 20 at 6 am.
