Health Scare As Police Busts Nakuru Syndicate Manufacturing Chemically-made Tomato Sauce

Date:

Police in Nakuru have busted a syndicate manufacturing chemically-made tomato sauce dubbed “Sky Light”.

A raid a house in Bondeni slums within Nakuru town on October 5th led to the arrest of one person who was found in possession of 3,000 litres of chemically-made tomato source.

Police discovered that the syndicate was using various chemicals, sugar, water and added preservatives to make the “Sky Light” tomato source without even adding a single piece of tomato.

The chemicals used to manufacture “Sky Light” tomato are believed to pose serious health risk to consumers because they are not even certified whether they are fit for human consumption.

There were also several filthy high capacity tanks where the ready sauce was being stored before its transfer into the retail vials.
