Government Orders Sacking Of Officials With Side Chicks

Date:

Burundi’s president Evariste Ndayishimiye has issued a new directive that will see all married government officials with extra marital affairs get sacked.

In a statement, the chief in commander of Burundi armed forces announced that the move was set to ensure that the officials value morals.

The statement was issued by the minister of Internal Security Gervals Ndirakobuca who insisted that government officials with side chicks should be punished.

He said that it had come to the ministry’s attention that, “some government officials were maintaining concubines and/or illegal relationships despite the government having taken measures to discourage this type of behaviour throughout the country.”

“Any government official who will be found guilty of cheating on their partners should be sacked with immediate effect. This is aimed at ensuring that the country observes high moral values,” said Ndirakobuca.

The move is said to be an honour to the late Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza who announced his plan in May 2017 and his main aim he said was to ensure that Burundi nationals have high morals.

The move elicited mixed reactions in social media from the country’s nationals. Here is how some of them reacted on twitter to the news;

@AfricaFactsZone: Imagine breaking the news to your wife and children that u have been fired because of mjolo.

@KhosaXikombiso: It’s useless, they should use such energy to fight corruption not this nonsense

@thesonofcomfort:That’s moral value at a new level. Quite impressive from an African country.

@Ashvel3: Hahaha….when government has left nothing to do on,just have to interfer in people’s affairs
