Orie Rogo Manduli’s burial was postponed by a week after her eldest daughter Engineer Elizabeth Rogo was admitted to Nairobi Hospital.
The late Manduli was to be buried on October 2nd but her daughter suddenly fell sick forcing organizers to halt funeral arrangements.
The family in a statement to newsrooms on Sunday said they decided to postpone the burial to allow Engineer Elizabeth Rogo to recuperate.
“The family has considered the situation and decided to postpone the upcoming funeral services by a week to give our Elizabeth room to recuperate and to be able to attend her mother’s send off,” read the statement by spokesperson Gor Semelang’o.
The family also shared the revised schedule:
Tuesday, 5th October, 12pm – 2pm – Celebration mass at All Saints Cathedral (Nairobi)
Wednesday, 6th October, 2 pm to 4 pm – Celebration mass, St. Stephen’s Cathedral Church (Kisumu)
Saturday, 9th October, from 10 am – Celebration mass & burial (all day), Tondorie Estate, Kitale

Orie Rogo Manduli died at her Riverside home in Nairobi on September 8, 2021 after collapsing. This happened as she was preparing to go for dental check-up.
The late Manduli is remembered as fiery politician and first Kenyan woman rally driver. She was born in Kisumu county in 1948.
