ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has expressed confidence that the declaration of William Ruto as the president-elect will be upheld by the Supreme Court.
Speaking during a church service in Larmudiac School Grounds in Njoro, Nakuru county where Kenya Kwanza leaders converged for thanks giving, Mudavadi noted that Ruto maintained calmness even though there was a lot of provocation from their opponents in the election period.Â
“During the elections, there was a lot of provocation directed at William Samoie Ruto. The day that the chairman of the electoral commission was making the announcement there was a lot of provocation. People even fought in front of the whole world but one thing remained constant, William Samoei Ruto kept his calm, his cool in spite of that provocation,” the Chief minister hopeful said.
Mudavadi further noted that on Monday September 5, such incidents of impunity will cease when the Supreme court will deliver a ruling on the presidential petition.
“My plea to you is that the decision tomorrow will be bringing an end to those people who have been misusing their positions of authority to direct important instruments of this nation towards the road of impunity. Tomorrow impunity must end,” Mudavadi said.
According to him, their government has no time to waste and wants to work peacefully and in unity so that they can achieve the manifesto they pledged to the Kenyan citizens.
Mudavadi also confirmed that Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula will be contesting in the senate Speaker position.
