Garissa town member of parliament Aden Duale has shocked netizens after openly revealing that he does not trust any politicians not even his party leader deputy president William Ruto.
According to Aden Duale, his lack of trust for politicians like Ruto is premised on the fact that politics requires one to be alert as opposed to being sycophant and following blindly.
“I dont trust any politician, not even William Ruto.” He said.
The Garissa member of parliament continued: There is no honesty here, no moral etiquette. If a politician, regardless of his position, tells you to close your eyes so he can pray for you, keep one open.” Said Duale.
The Garissa member of parliament has been an ardent supporter of DP Ruto having been elected under the United Republican Party (URP) prior to their coalition with TNA to form Jubilee.
Duale was even ousted from his National Assembly majority leadership position and replaced by Kipipiri member of parliament Amos Kimunya who also served as Trade and Finance Cabinet Minister under former President Mwai Kibaki.
The change was effected at the Jubilee National Assembly Parliamentary Group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, a move which was seen as taming Jubilee rebels.
A statement from the State House read: “PG discussed a petition made to the Party Leader regarding the Coalition’s National Assembly leadership and made the following changes: Appointed the Amos Kimunya as the new National Assembly Leader of Government Business and appointed the Adan Keynan as the new Secretary of the Jubilee Coalition National Assembly PG.”
In the meantime, it is not clear why Duale included the deputy president in the list of politicians he does not trust since he has always shown signs of supporting his presidential bid.
Whether his sentiments mean preparation to dump the deputy president or shift alliance is a matter of wait and see.
