Drama in Parliament As Man Wails Uncontrollably Pleading To View Mwai Kibaki’s Body(Video)

Date:

A dramatic moment was witnessed on Tuesday morning at the parliament buildings when a man showed up wailing uncontrollably as he sought to be allowed to view Mwai Kibaki’s body.

The man who has since been identified as Allan Makana is said to have traveled all the way from Western Kenya to Nairobi to pay his last respect to the former head of state.

He also claimed to be a distant grandchild to Kibaki. Onlookers tried to calm him down before he can be allowed to view Kibaki’s body but he adamantly refused saying that he should be left to cry,

“Give me a chance to cry please, why are you allowing him to go soon, he is my president please, he is my president in fact he has been my distant [grandchild], I have been living with that mentality, why go soon, why,” the man wailed uncontrollably.

He even tried to seek answers from one of the photographers who was recording the dramatic scene.

The man went to an extent of removing his hood thus remaining bare chested because of being overwhelmed with emotions.

Security officers at the parliament intervened, asking him to take his jumper and leave.

“This is the opportunity, give me a chance to look for[read see] the body, I need to see him please. It has been long looking for him, he is my president. He gave me free education, now this is the time to look for him,” the man said.

He went ahead to accuse police officers of beating him just because he wanted to view Kibaki’s body.

Meanwhile, Kenyans have until tomorrow to view Kibaki’s after which he will be accorded a state funeral on Friday April 29.

His body will then be buried in his Othaya home in Nyeri county on Saturday April, 30.
