Deputy President William Ruto has now hit back President Uhuru on the ongoing purge in Jubilee party that has targetted those associated with him.
The DP said Kipchumba Murkomen, Susan Kihika, Kithure Kindiki among other Jubilee leaders who lost their positions in Parliament because they have thrown their support behind him as the government seeks to cut him down to size.
Speaking at his Sugoi home in Uasin-Gishu County where he hosted church leaders, DP William Ruto asked the President to stop threatening those associated with him but to focus on restoring the country’s political normalcy.
“Before we were only talking about ethnic division in the country. Today, a new form of division has emerged, political division. Recently we have seen several elected and nominated leaders being ousted from positions in Parliament, and are also being fought on many fronts because they are associated with Deputy President William Ruto,” William Ruto said.
William Ruto urged church leaders to pray for those people who were intolerant of other’s opinions to be accommodating.
The DP also had kind words for those leaders aligned to him and asked them to be patient with what’s happening at the moment.
“Those affected should know that despite the challenges they face, we still need to live harmoniously as citizens of one nation. When we are patient and believe in God, then He will allow us to engage in politics that is free of division and tribalism,” the DP said.
He also noted how several politicians associated with him are being threatened that they would be taken to court for alleged graft-related offenses, face tax evasion litigation, or be investigated by the EACC and consequently arraigned in court.

“Others are warned that they will lose their positions in parliamentary committees and other postings. They are subjected to all that simply because they affiliated to the Deputy President, and not because they are involved in any wrongdoing,” he added.
Ruto urged leaders to pray against the devil that wants to spark political division in the country.
The DP remarks come after being criticized for keeping silent as those associated in Parliament were being cut down to size by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kieleweke political wing.
So far, Ruto’s allies in the Senate and the National Assembly have been ousted from their lucrative positions in both houses.
