DP Rigathi Gachagua clashes with Governor Sakaja over matatu ban

Governor Sakaja and DP Gachagua have disagreements.

Deputy President Gachagua disagrees with Governor Sakaja’s proposal to ban matatus from the Nairobi CBD and claims that it will harm businesses.

Governor Johnson Sakaja has been cautioned by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua not to start any schemes that might harm enterprises.

Gachagua advised the Nairobi ruler to take it easy in the way he is managing the city while commissioning a Technical infrastructure in Nyeri Town.

“Governor Sakaja slow down. I mobilised the Kikuyu votes for you, so don’t hurt our businesses. This idea of removing matatus from town is not good. I will sit down with you so that we can come up with a solution. Matatus should be let to operate freely in town,” said DP Gachagua.

He added that the Mount Kenya people chose him and that he should not make decisions without first consulting them.

He advised Sakaja not to move the matatus out of CBD since it might have significant political consequences.

The DP, cautioned the Sakaja the Nairobi governor reminding him, he organized the Kikuyu vote for him and that as a result, he should provide them with an environment that is favorable to business.
