Donald Trump Solicits Donations From Supporters To Settle Campaign Debts

Date:

The outgoing American President Donald Trump’s campaign team is on the verge of soliciting donations from their supporters to settle their campaign debts.

For each contribution made to the Republican joint campaign committee, 60% will go towards the general election’s campaign account. This amount will be used to retire all debts incurred in the campaigns.

On the other hand, 40% will go to the operating account for the Republican National Committee. Any other balance will be deposited to the Republican’s party legal proceedings account.

On the same note, any donations made specifically towards campaign team will see 50% go to the Recount Account while the other half will cater for any other debt.

While Presidential hopeful Joe Biden convincingly won most electoral colleges to be declared president-elect, the incumbent president Donald Trump has refused to concede defeat citing electoral malpractice. As a result, his team led by Lawyer Rudy Giuliani has filed a number of petitions to challenge the election outcomes.

The president has continued to drum up support for these legal battles by appealing for fundraisings. According to President Trump, this election is “far from over” since most states are yet to certify the results. Besides, some states are expected to hold a recount after Trump complained of inclusion of  illegal votes in favor of his opponent Joe Biden.
