Did DP Ruto Abandon His Office In Harambee House? Jubilee Sheds Some Light

Date:

It seems that DP William Ruto abandoned his office in Harambee House if a statement by Jubilee is anything to go by.

According to the Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni, Ruto’s office is currently dusty, and that means that it had not been occupied for some time.

Kioni revealed that while responding to DP William Ruto’s press briefing on the shortage of fuel and the high cost of living that is currently rocking the country.

He said that Ruto was complaining instead of offering solutions to the problems facing Kenyans which is part of his mandate.

“In yet another episode of theatrics, Deputy President William Ruto convened a press briefing to read from his book of lamentations. It is sad that despite Mr. Ruto being the second in command in the government, he has become a serial complainer instead of offering practical solutions to Kenyans,” Kioni said.

According to the secretary general, Ruto is taking advantage of the plight that Kenyans are facing to earn a political mileage while pretending to be their savior.

Kioni told Ruto to choose between being a common citizen or the Deputy president of the country and occupy his office in Harambee house, because that is what Kenyans are paying him for.

“Mr. Ruto as the Deputy President can not pretend to pose the same questions as Wanjiku,” Kioni noted.

Kioni further said that DP spends Kshs50 million every weekend for campaigns which is an extra burden to citizens. He also mentioned that Ruto spent Kshs 200 million on his trip to US and UK where he was accompanied by 131 people.

“This is enough to provide an emergency food intervention programme in drought-stricken areas,” Kioni stated.

He bashed Ruto for enjoying a government facility yet he was insulting the same government.

“It is hypocritical for a Deputy President to stand on a staircase of a government house, enjoying government security and staff only to insult the same government he should be serving.

“Mr. Ruto has two clear choices, to occupy his dusty office in Harambee and help the president dispense his mandate to the people  of Kenya, as he should constitutionally or resign and lead the opposition atop his tax-funded top of the range Land Cruiser,” he added.

press statement from Jubilee

In his press briefing, Ruto accused the government of being insensitive towards the problems facing millions of Kenyans by failing to resolve the current fuel shortage crisis.
