DCI Releases Photos Of Wells Fargo Employees Who Stole Ksh94 Million Belonging To Quickmart

Date:

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has unleashed photos of two men, believed to be employees of Wells Fargo, who stole Ksh94 million belonging to Quickmart supermarket.

The two, a driver identified as Anthony Nduiki and the Commander crew, Daniel Mungai, made away with the cash on Monday morning at 6 am.

They are said to have sneaked with the truck that was to ferry the mentioned amount of money from Wells Fargo offices in Nairobi.

“DCI detectives are pursuing two Wells Fargo staff who earlier today disappeared with Sh94 million after dumping the company vehicle at Dafarm in South C, Nairobi.

“In the 6am incident, the two suspects Daniel Mungai Mugetha (crew commander) and Anthony Nduiki Waigumo (driver) sneaked the truck out of the company’s Nairobi offices shortly after the money-box was loaded, leaving behind the police escort car that was waiting to be flagged off, ” DCI stated.

The police escort were unaware that the truck they were to accompany to a bank in Nairobi’s CBD was long gone.

This was established soon after they made enquiries from the management on why the truck was taking long.

“Oblivious that the truck no. KBA 517T they were to escort had minutes earlier snaked away, the armed escort team went to enquire from the management why the loading was taking too long. By the time, neither the truck nor the crew members could be traced.

“A report by the company’s Investigations Manager indicated that the Isuzu Canter was destined to a bank located at Nairobi’s Kenyatta Avenue, ferrying the Sh94 million belonging to a renowned supermarket in the country. Police in Lang’ata were mobilized to pursue the daring duo, only to trace the empty truck abandoned in South C,” the police statement further read.

Special police team has since been dispatched to pursue the suspects.
