Premier League has confirmed two more players and staff have tested positive of Corona Virus after the latest screening. Bournemouth has confirmed that one of their players has tested positive and has been put on self-isolation.Â
The English FA began rolling out blanket tests on the EPL players last weekend before 2019-2020 season restarts. The tests are part of the measures taken by the governing body to combat the pandemic in the League.
Previous tests have led to six positive cases for the top-flight clubs. Watford is one of the three clubs that has confirmed positive cases. The club had two staff members and one player testing positive.
Under the new measures put by the Premier League, any person who tests positive will spend seven days in self-isolation before undergoing fresh screening and rejoining his teammates in training.
By Friday 22 May, a total of 996 players and club staff have been tested for Covid-19. Of the total tests, two tested positive from two clubsÂ

On Sunday, Bournemouth confirmed one of the two positive new cases that were tested from the playing squad.Â
“AFC Bournemouth can confirm that one of its players has tested positive for Covid-19, after the club’s second round of testing. Medical confidentiality means the player’s name will not be disclosed, and the club asks for this to be respected.
In line with Premier League protocols about positive tests, the player will be self-isolated for seven days before being tested again at a later date.” The club’s statement stated.
All the 20 Premier League clubs have now started their training, some teams are on personal training while others have begun gradual incorporate group training.
