Respected activist cum politician, Boniface Mwangi has was arrested on Tuesday, July 7, while protesting over the Saba Saba march that instantaneously turned chaotic in Nairobi city.
The activist was arrested when he made his way to the Central Police Station seeking to help free Saba Saba protestors who were arrested.
He was arrested as well after he made his way to the police station.
“Police everywhere, hiding with Sankara Kinuthia somewhere in the CBD. Police have decided to violate the constitution and target active citizens for Saba Saba march,” reads a section of his last tweet.
Among those arrested were Editar Ochieng and Wilfred Olal of Mathare Social Justice Centre.
