A 20-year old woman from Ndanai shopping Centre, Bomet County stabbed her boyfriend to death following a bitter argument that ensued between them.
24-year old Weldon Korir was stabbed after he forcefully entered a room that the woman and her lover had locked themselves in.
Those who witnessed the incident said that the woman picked a kitchen knife and stabbed Korir on the chest killing him on the spot.
According to the Sotik sub county police boss Francis Ng’ang’a, the commotion attracted locals who rushed at the scene to have a glimpse of what was going on. On seeing the lifeless body of the mechanic in a pool of blood, they subjected the woman to a thorough beating.
Police officers from Ndanai police station arrived at the scene just in time to save the woman from the angry mob.
The woman was rushed to Kapkatet sub-county referral hospital where she currently being treated under the watch of police officers.
A bar attendant who served the woman and her lover said that the two enjoyed their drinks before she excused herself and left the man at the table.
The murder weapon has since been recovered by the police with blood stains on it while the body of deceased is being preserved at the Kapkatet mortuary.
