A form three boy and a form two girl notorious for engaging in sexual act in a bush in Kiptiren village in Bomet county were forced to jump into a river to escape from an angry mob.

Kevin Kiplangat and Faith Chepkirui are said to have developed a habit of indulging in indecent acts whenever they are going home from school.

According to residents in Kiptiren village, the two lovebirds would sneak into a thicket and indulge in all manner of debauchery before proceeding home.

However, on Wednesday evening October 27th villagers had enough of Kevin and Faith’s broad daylight romance and decided to put a stop to it altogether.

Drama ensued when an elderly woman who was doing to fetch water from the river found the two lovebirds kissing and cuddling amorously at the bank of the river.

Lost in words, the woman raised an alarm attracting the attention of other women who were weeding crops in nearby farms.

The women join her in screaming and within minutes multitude of people arrived to witness for themselves what was going on.

The two lovebirds panicked as the woman screamed while they approached them. Amidst the confusion, Kevin and Faith jump into the swollen river and swum until they reached a tree that stands in the middle of the river.

The two students remained marooned on the tree in the river as villagers gathered along the river bank to witness the drama.

Kevin and Faith held onto themselves as residents in the otherwise quiet village in Bomet county watched in disbelief.

Area assistant chief arrived at the scene and persuaded the duo to get to the river bank after the mob was calmed.

The chief whisked away the two lovebirds from a group of women who were ready to pounce on them the moment they set their feet on the river bank.

The irate women accused the two notorious students of being disrespectful and exhibiting bad manners.

The chief assured the angry mob that the two lovebirds will be reported to the school disciplinary committee to take appropriate action that will be a punishment to them and a warning to others.

He further called on students to desist from indulging in premature sexual relations and focus on their studies.

The chief attributed such relationships to increase in teenage pregnancies, school dropouts, and early marriages in Bomet county as a whole.
