“Ataenda”- Raila Forced To Disown Isiolo Governor Kuti Amid Chants From Doyo Fans

Date:

Former Prime minister Raila Odinga was caught up in supremacy battles between the incumbent governor Mohammed Kuti and his arch rival former governor Godana Doyo.

The visibly angry Isiolo residents who attended Raila’s Azimio La Umoja almost brought the event to a premature end as they continuously chanted “Kuti must go! Kuti must go!” and “Doyo Doyo Doyo!”

It seems the Isiolo residents were not happy with their current governor Mohammed Kuti, which forced a number of leaders such as Junet Mohamed to intervene with no success.

It is at that point when Raila Odinga stood in a bid to cool down the charged up crowd. According to the ODM leader, they ought to have listened to all leaders even if they disagreed with governor Kuti.

However, not even Raila could convince them to have mercy on the incumbent as Kuti Must Go Kuti Must Go Doyo Doyo filled the air.

“Ataenda!” Said Raila in reference to Kuti as he succumbed to the demands by the locals. Prior to his speech being cut short, the ODM leader reminded the region of the development projects he brought to the region during  the Grand Coalition government when he was the prime minister.

As a result, Raila Odinga promised the Isiolo residents a number of goodies should he be elected to take over the leadership of the country come 2022.

The opposition leader said he would ensure the region becomes an economic hub through various development projects such as railway, dams, modern slaughterhouses, and expansion of the Isiolo airport.

Raila who was in Isiolo to campaign for his unity course further promised to end boundary conflicts that have affected the region for the longest time possible.

“We shall build industries for slaughtering your animals. This place already has an airport, I will ensure its runway is expanded so that bigger planes start operating in this region. The planes will be carrying meat from this place to foreign countries. We will also build a skin-processing factory so that we can manufacture shoes from Isiolo,” Raila said.
