Facebook has, for the second time in less than a week, developed problems that have now raised alarm about their technical team.
It was just last week on Monday that the social media giant, alongside its affiliates – namely Instagram Messenger and WhatsApp treated people to a six-hour frustration when they would not enjoy the services rendered by the giant social media handle.
Just yesterday, people could not fathom the fact that the agony that they were treated to last week would again rear its ugly head on Friday.
Expressing their frustration with the new developments, it took the Facebook itself to explain why there were experiences of technical hitches.
“We are aware that other people are having trouble accessing our Apps and products. We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Facebook said in a tweet.
Because of that anomaly in social media platform, there were a good number of people who were reported to have developed problems with sharing of photos using the Instagram App.
The use of Web monitoring Downdetector showed that people who suffered the brunt of Facebook’s technical hitch were 36,000.
There were also reported cases of about 800 users who experienced challenges with Facebook Messenger.
Downdetector is used to track outages in all media platforms by collating status reports from various sources, like user-submitted error on its platform.
But the outage on Monday was the largest as having been detected by the Downdetector. The outage, during that small period alone, affected billions upon billions of Facebook users the world over.
The use of social media has transitioned from being a leisure thing, or a place where people pass time after a day’s work, to a real business venture.
People are minting millions of money using various social media platforms. That alone explains why there was an outrage during that six-hour outage among their users.
