Aisha Jumwa Slams President Kenyatta For Engaging In An Outdated Process

Date:

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has called upon president Uhuru Kenyatta to stop advocating for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidency.

Speaking in Maragua, Murang’a County, the lawmaker termed Raila’s candidature as a project that should not be imposed on people.

Likening the process to the traditional way of wife sourcing, Jumwa said that such was outdated and currently people approach women themselves.

“In the past, a woman would be approached on behalf of a man who is interested in her but things have changed now. I want to tell our beloved president that now people approach women themselves,” Jumwa said during the Kenya Kwanza rally.

“He should leave us to court with William Ruto, the likes of Musalia Mudavadi and those in Kenya Kwanza. We don’t want the one he wants to impose on us,” she added.

Jumwah told the people of Muranga’a to reject the former prime minister because he can not be a good leader.

“We are done with him, he doesn’t have anything there(Kilifi) now we are seeing him loitering in the mountain. That person is a load, a con and cannot lead. I am requesting that you reject him as we did,” she said

The MP further asked President Kenyatta to just retire alongside the ODM leader so that they could rest.

“I want to tell President Kenyatta to go home  and he should hold his brother’s hand because he might fall , he is too tired, let them go and rest,” she said.

Recently, Jumwa was rumored to have dumped the Hustler movement for the Azimio one, after it was noted that she was missing on the campaign trails.

Jumwa however denied the allegations saying that she was one of the founders of UDA and therefore she can not ditch the party.

” As you know me Aisha, I can’t vomit and go back to lick it. My leadership is strong. I can’t be pushed here and there. I want to tell my Kilifi people that I am inside UDA as one of the founders,” Jumwa said
