President Uhuru Planning To Ditch Raila And Reconcile With Ruto

Date:

With the current standoff at the Senate President Uhuru has opted to go for the “devils” he knows rather than the “angels” he doesn’t know to help his side to pass the proposed revenue sharing formula.

The president is said to have turned to his senators after disappointment by Raila and hit troops in the Senate.

Sources say President Uhuru plans to summon his senators to a meeting after Nasa Senators failed to endorse the proposed revenue sharing formula.

According to Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, the standoff in the House had been caused by poor leadership.

“The Senate has become an open-air market without rules nor leadership.”

The majority side is in disarray while the minority is overwhelmed by the new responsibilities,” the former majority leader said.

Stung by the resistance from their newly fond allies, a senior Jubilee party the party’s PG would also be used to reach out to the rebel wing associated with Deputy President. He added that reconciliation between the Tangatanga wing and Kieleweke fraction was also on the table.

“Raila is expected will be meeting some party officials and Parliament leadership from both Jubilee and ODM to try and reach a consensus to avert the government defeat on Tuesday”, the official told the Standard Newspaper.

Jubilee has warned Raila that BBI is at stake if the formula before the Senate is rejected by his troops.

“We thought BBI was about ‘one man, one shilling.’ That is the philosophy underpinning the committee’s proposal,” Majority chief whip Irungu Kang’ata said.

“We shall bite the bullet. There shall be no more adjournment of the debate. We shall reconsider BBI if we lose the vote. If the government loses the vote, BBI will collapse,” he added.

The government is planning to pass the proposed formula so that it can turn its attention on BBI that will allow more money to the counties.
