Late Asad’s case against Maxine Wahome changes from grievous harm to murder

Date:

Maxine Wahome will now face Cliff Ombeta who’s Khan’s family lawyer.

Famous racing driver Maxine Wahome is currently being probed for the death of her late partner, Asad Khan, as the investigation’s focus is transformed from one of severe bodily harm to a case involving murder.

The police have been given two weeks by the High Court to wrap up their inquiry into the legendary rally driver Asad Khan’s death.

Following Khan’s death, state prosecutor James Gachoka informed Milimani Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi that the situation in the case has changed.

“The circumstances in this investigation have changed following the death of Asad last December. Maxine is now being investigated for murder and grievous harm. I request the matter to be mentioned in 14 days,” Gachoka says.

He stated that the government chemist’s DNA reports and other important findings are still awaiting submission to the investigators.

The court’s orders have been followed, according to Wahome’s attorney Steve Kimathi, and she has been appearing every Thursday.

Cliff Ombeta has been hired by Khan’s family to assist them in court.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has been contacted by the family to request additional investigation into a few issues, Ombeta said.
