In order to allow police to complete their investigations, one suspect, Alex Maina Ochogo, 28, who is Junior Sagini’s cousin, has since been detained and will be held at Rioma Police Station for five days.
A court in Kisii has been informed that the primary suspect who is thought to know who gouged out the eyes of a three-year-old boy named Sagini in Kisii traveled to Nairobi.
According to Hillary Kaino, the case’s prosecutor, he was detained after it came to light that he had escorted his mom to board a bus for Nairobi right after the boy had been subjected to the heinous act.
Maureen Nyaboke, Sagini’s mother, sobbed excessively as she saw her son at Kisii Eye Hospital on Sunday.
Even the governor of Kisii, Simba Arati, who visited the boy, couldn’t calm her down.
She had left her husband because of arguments at home, and therefore she wasn’t at home when his child was attacked.
Sagini was taken to the hospital after he was rescued abandoned in a corn farm at Ikuruma village, Marani Subcounty.
Sagini will be represented in his fight for justice by attorneys Daphine Ayaki. and Anita Nduhukire.
