A number of ODM MPs found favor in the eyes of their electorate and have been given a chance to serve again in their respective constituencies unlike those of Jubilee who were mercilessly sent home.
Returning officers in different parts of the country started announcing the winner of MP seats and more results of the same will be streaming in across the day.
ODM has managed to secure MP seats across the country and here is a list of some of those who are lucky to have retained their seats so far.
Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo retained her seat after garnering 27, 130. Federal party candidate James Akali came second with 18,151.
Junet Mohammed defended his Suna East MP seat after garnering 26,516 votes
Ndhiwa MP Martin Peters Owino also successfully defended his seat and got 31, 3854 votes from the total votes cast.
Raphael Wanjala of Budalangi was re-elected after 15, 572 voted for him in the Tuesday’s general elections.
Lurambi MP Titus Khamala also vied on an ODM ticket and was not sent home after getting 32, 309 votes. NRA party candidate Timothy Vikiru comes second with 9,342 votes
Otiende Amollo secured his Rarieda seat after garnering 37,676 of the total votes cast. His closest competitor Augustine of UDM came second with 27, 266
Samuel Atandi of Alego Usonga garnered 68,129. He made history by becoming the first MP in the constituency to be re-elected.
Results for the general elections that were conducted on Tuesday August 9, are still streaming in as Kenyans wait for the final ‘list’ of those who will be leading the country for the next five years.
According to IEBC, 14 million Kenyans participated in the general elections.
