Watch How Rigathi Gachagua Left His Villagemates In Stiches After KIEMS Kit Failed To Recognize Him

Date:

Mathira MP and Deputy Presidential hopeful Rigathi Gachagua joined his constituents in voting at Sagana polling station.

The process was however not smooth as expected  during the first stage of voter identification. This is because the KIEMS kit misbehaved.

The device could not recognize Gachagua’s fingerprint at the first attempt in a bid to identify him as a voter at the polling station.

He was forced to rub his finger and even do so on his head making those who were in the center burst in laughter.

The efforts indeed paid off as the device was finally able to recognize him.

This comes at time when Gachagua and his Kenya Kwanza team members vehemently opposed the use of the manual register in identifying voters at the polling station.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said that the manual register will only be used when the KIEMS kit fails.

After the voting exercise, the lawmaker urged Kenyans to vote and maintain peace.

“I have exercised my democratic right and voted. Your vote counts as well. Vote and keep peace,” Gachagua said in a tweet.
