Just before Kenyans could move on from the recent Kasarani incident where four bodies were found murdered, another fifth body was on Wednesday found dumped at Ngubi Forest in Lari.
According to the police reports, the lifeless body belonged to one Joseph Njau Ng’endo who was running for Njiru member of county assembly in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.
The badly mutilated body was then taken to the City mortuary. This comes just days after four bodies that went missing in Kasarani area were found in Kijabe. The four men were Frank Obegi, Elijah Omeka, Moses Nyachae and Fred Obare.
Joseph Njau was at some point arrested in Nairobi’s Westlands on his way from Kampala in Uganda where he had allegedly gone to buy drugs that he concealed inside some pawpaws.
The police stated that Njau was part of a large heroin distribution network in Nairobi. Specifically, he is believed to have been procuring the hard substances from a Nigerian citizen based in Kampala, Uganda.
“Police records indicate that Njau is a frequent traveler to Uganda. He has a pattern of leaving Kenya through the Busia border and coming back to Kenya through the Malaba border. He does this to evade detection,” a police report said.
“In early February 2019, Njau made two trips to Uganda where he is suspected to have hammered a deal with his Nigerian drug associates.” Continued the authorities.
“When not dealing drugs, Njau works part-time as an anti-drug abuse campaigner. He regularly visits schools and social gatherings to give talks against drug abuse.”
In the meantime, reports revealed that the other four who were equally found murdered were involved in criminal activities where they defrauded people through cryptocurrency that targeted victims outside Kenya. Prior to their mysterious death, they conned their latest victim 1 million Kenya shillings.
